Monica is a 29-year-old mother from Uganda. She and her husband, Rauben, live in a small village near our medical partner’s hospital, Bwindi Community Hospital. They have two children. Both Monica and Reuben are subsistence farmers who grow tea, cassava, beans, and groundnuts. Monica also rears chickens. In her free time, she enjoys participating in the village women’s group.
Monica visited our medical partner’s hospital when she was pregnant with her third child. She was considered a high-risk pregnancy. On November 7, she checked into the hospital for antepartum and postpartum monitoring to ensure a safe delivery of her child. Though she and her husband are paying $8 for her treatment, they need help to pay her remaining $241 medical bill.
Monica hopes that all her children grow up healthy and receive an education.
“I am very grateful to the sponsors for helping me have a delivery at the hospital,” says Monica. “God bless you all so much!”
