Emelin is a joyful and curious four-year-old girl from Chocó, Colombia. She attends preschool, where her enthusiasm and curiosity brightens everyone’s day. Her energy is contagious, and her kindness leaves a lasting impression on everyone around her. From a young age, Emelin has dreamt of becoming a doctor, so she can help those in need.
Emelin has been diagnosed with an umbilical hernia, a tissue bulge in the belly button area, that occurs due to a weak spot in the abdominal wall. The condition has been causing her discomfort and tenderness, making it difficult for her to do everyday activities like playing, jumping, and fully enjoying her childhood.
Fortunately, on April 21st, Emelin will undergo repair surgery at our medical partner, Clínica Noel. Her family is seeking $786 to fund the procedure, which will allow her to live more comfortably and enjoy her childhood to the fullest.
Emelin’s mother said “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the donors supporting her surgery. Thank you for extending your generous hand without even knowing her personally. That gesture is, without a doubt, one of the purest expressions of human kindness. Your support not only alleviates a medical need, but also fills our hearts with hope.”
