Ramsey is the youngest of three children. He lives with his parents and siblings in a one-room house in Kenya. His parents are farmers.
Ramsey was diagnosed with spina bifida at birth, which means his spine did not form properly. He underwent surgery to repair the condition. He then underwent a second surgery to treat his hydrocephalus, a swelling of fluid in his brain.
Since the second surgery, Ramsey has been experiencing troubling symptoms, including vomiting and an increasing head circumference. The shunt that was inserted into his brain to drain the fluid has failed, and it needs to be re-inserted.
Ramsey will undergo surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Now, his family needs help raising $634 to pay for surgery.
“I hope we will get help on this treatment,” shares Ramsey’s mother.
