Morn is a loving grandmother from Cambodia. She is a widow and has three sons, three daughters, and 20 grandchildren. She lives with her sister and is supported by her children. Morn enjoys spending her time visiting the nearby pagoda and caring for her grandchildren. Five years ago, Morn developed entropian of the eyelids. This means that she has a condition in which her eyelid is turned inward so that her eyelashes rub against her eyeball, causing discomfort. It is difficult for her to open her eye and see. Left untreated, it can cause damage to the transparent covering in the front part of her eye (cornea), eye infections, and permanent vision loss. Morn traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On November 21st, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), will perform a corrective procedure to repair her eyelids. Now, Morn needs help to raise $249 to fund this procedure. Morn said: "I hope after surgery my eye won't have irritation and will feel comfortable. I am lonely because I have to stay inside the house and I want to visit my family."

Chan is a 68-year-old rice farmer with two daughters, four sons, and many grandchildren. Sadly, his wife passed away during the Khmer Rouge era and he now lives with his youngest daughter who is a farmer. Three years ago, Chan developed a cataract in his right eye causing him blurry vision and tearing. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. When Chan learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On October 11th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $229 procedure. Chan shared, "I hope my eye can see well after surgery so I can work in the rice field again. I want to be able to help my daughter more."

Arahufu is a two-year-old boy who loves football. He is the youngest child in a family of five children. Aruhufu's father works as a ‘manamba’, where his job is to call passengers onto a bus at the bus stop. When he manages to fill all the sits in the bus, he is then given some money. Arahufu was diagnosed with bilateral genu varus, a condition in which his legs bow outward. This condition is typically caused by an excessive accumulation of fluoride in the bones, which often stems from contaminated drinking water. As a result, he has difficulty walking and running. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is requesting $880 to fund corrective surgery for Arahufu. The procedure is scheduled to take place on September 14th. Treatment will hopefully restore Arahufu's mobility, allowing him to participate in a variety of activities, and greatly decreasing his risk of future complications. Arahufu’s mother shared, “I can never find the money needed to cover my son’s treatment cost. I am struggling to even put food on the table. Please help him.”

Chenda is a three-year-old girl, who lives with her parents and her two-year-old sister. Chenda's father works in construction. When Chenda was one year old her mother noticed she had difficulty walking and her gait has remained abnormal for the last two years. Her neighbors told her to come to our Medical Partner Children's Surgical Centre (CSC) where an x-ray shows dysplasia of her left hip. To repair this dysplasia, surgeons will perform an open reduction and pelvis osteotomy on the left side. She will be able to walk normally once she recovers and grow up as a healthy girl. Chenda's mother said, "I hope my daughter will get well soon and she will be able to walk easily and well after her surgery."
