You can still change someone's life. Support a patient

MISSION

Watsi is one of our favorite non-profits. It enables anyone to directly fund life-changing healthcare for people around the world.

I'm launching this campaign to raise money for patients in need of care. If you chip in, 100% of your donation will fund healthcare. When our campaign is over, I’ll get to distribute all the money we raised to patients, and you’ll get an update on the people we supported together.

Thanks for the support!

Serah is a 45-year-old single mother from Kenya, living with her three children, her mother, and her brother. For years, she worked tirelessly as a house aid to provide for her family, but when illness struck, she had to give up her job. Now, they depend on her mother, who struggles to make ends meet as a small-scale farmer. Financial stability has become a distant dream, forcing them to sell their few livestock just to cover Serah's medical scans. For the past nine months, Serah has been suffering from painful swelling in her abdomen. After undergoing medical scans at a government hospital, she was diagnosed with an umbilical hernia. Her surgery, which she urgently needs, has been delayed, and her condition has worsened. She is now experiencing troubling symptoms, including bleeding from her umbilical area, which requires immediate medical attention. Serah's family brought her to our medical partner's care center, Nazareth Hospital, where doctors advised an emergency hernia repair. Unfortunately, the financial burden of the surgery is beyond their means. If left untreated, Serah’s condition could lead to serious complications, putting her life at risk. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Serah receive treatment. On 5th November, she will undergo hernia repair surgery, enabling her to reclaim her health. Now, Serah needs help to fund this $517 procedure. Serah says: “I am in urgent need of support, and I fear for my life and my children who rely on me for their growth and needs. I kindly seek help so that I can receive the treatment I need and get my life back on track.”

The past nine months have been filled with worry and uncertainty for Vinet, a 23-year-old young man whose life was turned upside down by sudden tremors, convulsions, and fainting spells. Since his first collapse in March 2024, he has visited multiple hospitals and taken medication to manage his condition, yet he continues to struggle with these debilitating episodes. In May 2024, Vinet came to our medical partner's care center, AIC Kijabe Hospital, where he received the shocking news that a tumor had formed near his brain. The doctors recommended a craniotomy—an urgent surgery that could save his life. However, Vinet's lack of insurance coverage has made it impossible for him to proceed with the treatment. Raised by a single father after the loss of his mother, Vinet is an only child who has always been a source of strength for his family. His father works at a flower farm in Naivasha to keep food on the table. Despite completing high school, Vinet has been unable to pursue further education due to financial limitations. To support his family, he took on construction work, which has become increasingly difficult as his health issues worsen. Since his diagnosis, Vinet and his father have been desperately trying to raise funds for his surgery, but their efforts have not yielded fruit. Vinet collapses up to four times a week, making it hard for him to work or even socialize, as he never knows when the next episode will strike. Yet, amidst these challenges, Vinet remains hopeful. He dreams of studying electrical engineering and is determined to seek help from kind-hearted individuals once he regains his health. To make this dream a reality, Vinet urgently needs your support to undergo this life-saving surgery. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Vinet receive treatment. On November 28th, he will undergo a craniotomy at AIC Kijabe Hospital. The treatment will help him reclaim his health, live a normal life, and work towards achieving his aspirations. Now, Vinet's family need help to fund this $1,500 procedure. Vinet says, "I once collapsed while I was with friends, and ever since that day, I've felt like people tend to avoid being around me because they're afraid I might collapse at any moment. Yet, I believe that with the right treatment, I will regain my health."
