Destiny is an eight-month-old baby from Malawi. He is the youngest in a family of three children. His mother has a small business, ordering and selling tomatoes and charcoal, while his father is a bricklayer.
At the age of three months, Destiny was diagnosed with a left inguinal hernia. Since then, he has suffered frequent, painful swelling episodes that make him cry endlessly, though by nature he is a cheerful, smiling baby. These recurring episodes have left his mother overwhelmed. In August 2025, they were advised to seek help at our medical partner’s care center, Partners in Hope Medical Center (PIH). Destiny needs surgery to address his symptoms and allow him to grow up healthy. With renewed hope, his mother now believes that Destiny will soon recover, enabling her to return to her business and continue supporting her entire family.
Fortunately, on September 3rd, Destiny will undergo hernia repair surgery. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $575 to fund Destiny’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently.
Destiny’s mother was hopeful and shared, “I want you to help my child get better.”
