Vania is a sweet toddler from Bolivia. She lives with her dad, who works in construction, her mom, who is a homemaker, and her older sister. She likes to play with dolls. Vania's parents noticed she was not gaining weight properly and took her to the local doctors, who discovered her heart condition called an Anomalous Right Coronary Artery from the Pulmonary Artery. One of her coronary arteries connects to the blood vessels near her heart in an anatomically abnormal location. This leads to poor blood flow to the heart and causes heart failure over time. On August 26th, Vania will undergo cardiac surgery at our medical partner's care center, Hospital del Niño Dr. Ovidio Aliaga Uría. During surgery, surgeons will detach the coronary artery and reattach it in the appropriate location. Vania's family needs help to fund the costs of cardiac care and surgery. Our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, requests $1,500 to cover the cost of cardiac exams and diagnostics, surgical costs, follow-up care, and medications. Vania's mother says, "I pray my little daughter has a successful surgery; she is my sunshine."

Zaw is a 46-year-old man from Burma. He lives by himself in Phop Phra District, Tak Province, Thailand. His wife and son still live in Burma. In November 2025, while fleeing from Burmese soldiers, Zaw ran and fell to the ground. Despite being in pain, he continued to run until he reached Thailand, where he was able to seek help from locals in the area. He sought treatment at various health facilities and was finally referred to our medical partner's care center, Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital, for specialized care. Zaw was diagnosed with a left distal femur fracture and has been unable to work. A non-profit has been supporting him for his daily needs, but Zaw needs surgery to facilitate healing and prevent future health complications. He is in pain and can only walk with crutches. With the help of our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, Zaw will undergo surgery to reset his fractured bones and ensure proper healing. The procedure is scheduled for May 1st and will cost $1,500. This procedure will help Zaw able to walk again and be free from pain Zaw expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much to this organization and the donors for your willingness to support my treatment costs. Although I do not know everyone personally, I will always remember your kindness and support. Without your help, I would have faced permanent disability in my left leg, as I had no one else to ask for help.”

Ei is a 13-year-old girl from Burma. She lives with her father, two older sisters, and one older brother in Phop Phra District, Tak Province, Thailand. Ei’s father and all her siblings work as day labourers in the corn fields near their village, while Ei helps with the family’s daily household chores. Her mother passed away in March 2026. In her free time, Ei enjoys playing with her friends and helping with the family’s daily responsibilities. On the 23rd of June, 2026, Ei had intense lower abdominal pain, vomiting, and a fever. She went to the local clinic near her village, where she underwent another physical examination and was diagnosed with appendicitis by the nurse. She was referred to our medical partner's care center, Mae Sot General Hospital, for surgery and further care. On June 25th, Ei will undergo an appendectomy. Our medical partner, Burma Medical Children Fund (BCMF), is asking for help in raising $1,500 for her procedure and care. After recovery, Ei should be able to return to her daily activities and support her family. Ei’s father expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much to this organisation [HFA-BCMF] and the donors for your kindness in supporting my youngest daughter’s treatment costs. We feel immense happiness because of your help. We could not afford her surgery, as our family can only meet daily needs if we work every day. Your support has brought great relief and blessings to our family.”
