Rothea was in an accident in April of this year in which he seriously injured his knee and ruptured a tendon in his quadriceps. His knee is very stiff, which is making it difficult to do everyday activities, and he is experiencing constant pain.
Surgeons at our Cambodian medical partner want to repair Rothea’s tendon with surgery and physiotherapy. They say this will help improve his mobility and enable him to return to life as usual.

Rothea received surgery and physiotherapy to regain mobility and strength in his leg.
Rothea’s operation went well and he is already moving around much more than before. He is continuing his physiotherapy exercises at home and will soon return to the Children’s Surgical Centre for a follow-up appointment. Restoring Rothea’s mobility will greatly improve his quality of life.
Rothea was grateful to everyone who has made his treatment possible. “I am so happy,” he told our medical partner in Cambodia.
