Sheh is an 18-year-old student from Burma. She lives with her younger sister in a dormitory in the learning centre, in Mae Sot District, Tak Province, Thailand. Sheh currently attends the ninth grade in one of the migrant learning centers. Sheh is originally from Shan State, Burma, and was moved and brought to Thailand by a female pastor when she was six years old. Due to the family’s financial problems, Sheh and her sister were raised by a dorm mother in a dormitory. Sheh’s parents are farmers, and their income is not enough to cover general household expenses and pay for basic health care. She receives food, dormitory fees, and school ferry fees.
On 25 August 2025, Sheh started to feel pain in her abdominal wall. Two days later, she suffered from sudden pain in the abdomen, abdominal distension, urinary frequency, and burning or discomfort during urination. Doctors want Sheh to undergo a CT scan, a procedure in which X-ray images taken from several angles are combined to produce cross-sectional images of the body. This scan will hopefully help doctors diagnose her condition and formulate an appropriate treatment plan.
Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $414 to cover the cost of Sheh’s CT scan and care, scheduled for September 5th.
Sheh said, “Thank you for your support.” The dorm mother added, “Thank you to all the donors and the BCMF staff for the support and for helping us.”
