Rosette is a 29-year-old woman from Uganda. She lost both parents at a young age and grew up with her grandmother. Rosette and her husband have three living children. They farm a small piece of land to provide food for their family, and any surplus is sold for income.
During the birth of her fifth child, Rosette sustained a tear that, although initially repaired, has left her with persistent pain for the past year. She is having trouble controlling her bowel movements while experiencing discomfort in her pelvic area and lower abdominal pain. These issues have impacted her daily life making it difficult to participate in public gatherings, attend church, and manage back pain.
Rosette was referred to our medical partner’s care center, Rwibaale Health Center, where she was diagnosed with a third-degree perineal tear. Fortunately, on November 8th, she will undergo hernia repair surgery and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $201 to fund this procedure. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably and confidently.
Rosette says, “I hope to associate well in public and continue my duties after recovery.”
