Kebendera is a small-scale farmer from Uganda. She has three children.
20 years ago, Kebendera began to experience troubling symptoms, including difficulty breathing, swallowing, and coughing. She was diagnosed with a multi-nodular goiter. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Kebendera receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on October 16 at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $240, and she and her family need help raising money.
Kebendera says, “I will continue with cultivation after surgery because I will be relieved of this condition.”
