A 63-year-old grandfather from Cambodia with six children and seven grandchildren, Luy enjoys chatting with his neighbors and spending time with his family, says our partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC).
Luy has hypermature cataracts in both of his eyes, which interfere with his eyesight and cause cloudy vision. “The cataracts in Luy’s eyes make it very difficult for him to see the faces of his family. He also can’t go work at the farm very much and hard to join with his village to go to the pagoda,” says CSC.
$225 will fund a surgery to remove the cataracts from Luy’s eyes and restore his vision. He will have the procedure done on his right eye first, and his left eye one or two weeks later.
“After surgery, Luy wants to get back to the farm, plant some veggies around his house to sell at the market, and see the faces of his family again,” says CSC.
