Uba is a cheerful four-year-old from Kenya who is excited to grow up and go to school like other kids. She is the youngest in her family of four children. Her father works casual jobs, while her mother stays at home caring for the family.
Uba has misalignment of her feet, a condition where her legs curve outward, causing her knees to remain apart when her feet and ankles are together. Uba has lived with the condition since birth. Over the years, her family has sought help from different hospitals, hoping to find a solution, but unfortunately, they were unable to get the treatment she needed. Her condition continued to worsen, making it increasingly difficult for her to stand and walk. Uba is now scheduled to undergo surgery to improve the alignment of her legs, thus allowing her to stand upright, walk with greater confidence, participate freely in activities with other children, and continue living with fewer limitations.
Uba is scheduled to undergo surgery at our medical partner’s care center on September 28th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,224 to cover the cost of Uba’s procedure and care.
Uba’s father said, “I want to see my daughter stand upright, walk well, and go to school like other children. This treatment gives us hope for a better future for Uba.”
