Nay is an expectant mother from Burma. She lives with her husband, her sister-in-law, brother-in-law, her nephew, and her grandmother in a refugee camp in Sob Moe District, Mae Hong Song Province, Thailand. Her husband is a general day laborer who works outside of the camp. During her free time, she likes to cook and clean her house. Nay is expecting her first child. Her doctors recommend that she deliver via a caesarean section due to cephalopelvic disproportion (CPD). This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is helping Nay undergo a C-Section on August 24th. This procedure will cost $1,500, and Nay needs your support. Nay’s husband said, “I am very worried about my wife and my child, but I am also happy to get to meet my baby. If there are no donors to help us, we will need to borrow money, but I still do not know where to borrow from, as most of the people in the camp do not have much money to let us borrow. Neary is a resilient widow and devoted mother of two from Cambodia. She is a 52-year-old grocery seller from Pursat Province who lives with her daughter. Her husband passed away six years ago due to an illness. She has two children—her son is a police officer, and her daughter is a teacher. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and planting vegetables around her home. In 2022, Neary was involved in a motorcycle accident that caused a fracture of her left femur. After the accident, she received treatment at a clinic in Pursat Province, where doctors performed internal fixation surgery and implanted hardware to stabilize the fracture. In 2023, after a proximal screw broke, she underwent another procedure to remove the broken screw and replace it with a new one. She is now experiencing lower back pain, pain in her left leg, difficulty walking, and occasional stiffness. The non-union of her left femur has affected her mobility and causes discomfort that makes daily activities and running her grocery-selling work difficult. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On May 26th, Neary will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will remove the problematic top screw and use bone grafting to promote proper healing of the fracture. It will help reduce pain, improve stability, and allow her to walk more comfortably and independently again. Neary can contribute $100, but needs help raising $278 more to fund her procedure and care. Neary said, “After the surgery, I hope that my pain will be relieved and that I will be able to walk comfortably again. I hope to recover well and return to my normal daily activities without difficulty. I am very thankful to the doctors and everyone who is helping make my treatment possible.”

Moth is a 32-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He is married and lives with his wife, who works in a garment factory, and their two children, one in Grade 5 and the other in kindergarten. Before his injury, he enjoyed playing volleyball with friends in his village. On August 9, 2026, Moth was lifting a 30-foot iron pole while working on his home when it came into contact with an electrical wire. The resulting electrical burns severely injured both his hands and feet. Although he received treatment, he continued to have painful wounds and dead tissue on his feet, requiring further treatment at Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC). His injuries have made daily activities difficult because of pain and limited movement in his left wrist and fingers. He has been unable to return to his usual work, leaving his wife to support the family alone. The cost of treatment has also placed the family under significant financial pressure, and he still has debts to repay. Moth has been experiencing pain and has damaged, blackened skin on both feet, with dead tissue and an infection around the toes of his right foot. His doctors recommend an amputation of the 4th and 5th toes of the right foot and the big toe of the left foot to prevent symptoms from getting worse. Moth will undergo surgery on October 27th, and once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably. He can contribute $25, but needs help raising $563 more to fund his procedure and care. Moth said, “I hope this surgery will help my feet heal and reduce my pain. I want to use my hands more easily and return to work when I’m able. My wife is supporting our family alone right now, and I hope to recover so I can help her and rebuild our lives together.”
