Following the birth of her second child, Padam Kala began noticing a discomfort in her pelvis. She was eventually diagnosed with a uterine prolapse, a condition where the muscles holding the uterus in place begin to fail, resulting in extreme sensitivity and risk for ulceration and infection. In the last seven years, Padam Kala’s pain has only worsened, and is now accompanied by abdominal bleeding and other symptoms that affect her day-to-day life.
Padam Kala has found that her condition causes her extreme discomfort while working in the fields during farming season as well as when she works odd manual labor jobs to supplement the family’s income. In addition, the odor has caused Padam Kala to be reluctant to socialize with family and friends.
We are excited to work with Nyaya Health to help raise the $895 needed for a hysterectomy. The procedure will help Padam Kala better provide for her family and be more active in her community.
