This is three-month-old Purity, the first-born child to her parents who live in Kenya. Purity’s mother is a small-business owner, while her father works as a cashier at a nearby school. Purity was born without an anal opening, whereby she cannot pass stool normally. “
Purity had colostomy surgery when she was a baby to enable her pass stool through the side of her stomach,” explains Watsi medical partner Africa Mission Healthcare Foundation. “Purity is prone to infections and is not treated soon she is at risk of developing severe infection.”
Purity needs two surgeries to construct an anal opening so she can pass stool normally, but at $1,500 her family cannot afford treatment. Purity’s mother says, “We have tried all we can to help treat our daughter, unfortunately, things have not been favoring us. We are glad we’ve finally found a place where she could be treated. We hope that we’ll get the support we need for her treatment.”
Let’s help Purity cover the cost of surgery so she can live without the risk of infection or further complications!
