Kabonesa is a small-scale farmer from Uganda. She is 45 years old and a mother of six children.
For two years, Kabonesa has been experiencing lower abdominal pain and backache. She has been diagnosed with cervical cancer. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $268 to fund Kabonesa’s surgery. On November 14, she will undergo gynecological surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Once recovered, Kabonesa will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain.
She says, “After surgery I will go a thanks giving mass in church to show God my sincere thanks and to pray for Watsi for the good work done.”

Kabonesa’s total abdominal hysterectomy was a success. She is no longer at risk of cancer spreading to other parts of the body. After recovery, she will be able to work in her gardens.
Kabonesa says, “I am feeling well. I am going to recover quickly. Thank you for saving my life. I was so much worried because cancer kills. After recovery, I will be able to work in my gardens, do laundry and other chores at home. Thank you very much for paying for my surgery. I couldn’t have afforded to pay for myself. God bless you.”
