Lun is a rice farmer from Cambodia. She is a mother of four and grandmother of eight.
One year ago, Lun developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurred vision, tearing, photophobia, and a cloudy lens. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Lun learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On February 2, doctors will perform phacoemulsification and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I look forward to walking by myself. There will be no need to disturb someone to hold my hand and help me all the time.”
