Baby Nardos is a cheerful and playful 8-month-old boy from Ethiopia. He enjoys playing with toys and spending time with other children. He lives with his parents and two older sisters. His father works as a carpenter, while his mother is a homemaker who dedicates her time to caring for the family. Baby Nardos was born with a condition called Hirschprung's disease. This is where a portion of the intestine does not have proper nerve function leaving a child with difficulty with bowel function. Doctors explained that he would need surgery but advised the family to wait until he was older and had grown enough to undergo the procedure. When Nardos was five months old, he was referred to our medical partner's care center, BethanyKids at Myungsung Christian Medical Center (BKMCM), for specialized treatment. Although the family initially felt anxious and uncertain, they were relieved to learn that Nardos could receive the care he needed. Surgeons will remove the part of the intestine that is not working properly and reconnect the healthy intestine to restore proper bowel function. Baby Nardos is scheduled to undergo this surgery on October 25th with the help of our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare. The procedure and follow-up care will cost $1,500, and Baby Nardos needs your help. Beyene is a 65-year-old farmer from Ethiopia. He works the land alongside his wife. Together they are raising six children, four boys and two girls, all of whom are still in school. Three years ago, Beyene started to experience troubling symptoms, which worsened over time. The symptoms affected his ability to relieve himself, disrupted his daily life, and his sleep. He was diagnosed with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), an enlargement of the prostate gland. Physicians at our medical partner, Saglan Wajee General Hospital, determined that Beyene should undergo surgery. He is scheduled for surgery on October 20th and needs help raising $900 to fund his procedure and care. Once completed, the treatment will improve Beyene's quality of life. Beyene shared, "I want to sleep through the night, drink water without fear, and visit my friends and family again without worrying about the night."

Bora is a 41-year-old electrician from Kampong Cham, Cambodia. He is married and has one son and one daughter. He lives with his wife, who is a grocery seller, while his children are students. In his free time, Bora enjoys exercising with his children. About two months ago, Bora developed a chalazion in his left eye, causing him burning, itchiness, irritation, and eye redness. A chalazion is an inflamed cyst in a patient's tear gland. It is difficult for him to see clearly and work. Bora traveled for three hours to seek treatment from our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre. On June 4th, surgeons will remove the cyst through a chalazion excision procedure. After recovery, Bora's symptoms should improve. Bora can contribute $25, but needs help raising an additional $238 to fund his procedure. Bora said, "I hope after surgery my eye lid no more cyst, and I won’t worry about it anymore. I want to go back to work well."
