Leticia is 60 years old and a mother of three from the Philippines. Her husband is a tricycle driver. Leticia stays home to care for her grandchildren.
Nine months ago, Leticia began to experience troubling symptoms, including severe stomach pain. She has been diagnosed with gallstones and has been advised to undergo a cholecystectomy, the surgical removal of the gallbladder. If left untreated, her symptoms will continue to worsen and put her at risk for other health complications.
Our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), is helping Leticia receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a cholecystectomy on December 15th. A portion of the cost of the procedure is being supported by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and WSFP is raising the remaining $1,031 to cover the cost of Leticia’s surgery and care.
Leticia shared, “Thank you so much to all of you who are helping us. I hope you get to help more people who are in need of your help. Once again, thank you so much!”
