Sim is a silk producer from Cambodia. She has one daughter and six grandkids. She likes to listen to the monks pray on the radio.
Six months ago, Sim developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her partial blindness, tearing, a clouded lens. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Sim learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for one hour seeking treatment. On July 17, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I hope my vision is improved after the surgery so that I can return to work and look after my grandkids.”
