Evelyn is a 10-year-old smart and friendly young girl who lives in Quibdó, Colombia with her family. Her joy and curiosity shine through every day at school, where she interacts with her classmates with enthusiasm and warmth. When she grows up, Evelyn wishes to become a great veterinarian. Since birth, Evelyn has had an umbilical hernia, a condition in which a small portion of abdominal tissue protrudes through the navel. The condition has been causing her discomfort and tenderness in the navel area, especially when performing activities like jumping, playing and enjoying her childhood. Surgery has been recommended to correct the hernia, and prevent possible future complications. Fortunately, Evelyn is scheduled for repair surgery on August 20th. Our medical partner, Clínica Noel, is requesting $1,005 to fund Evelyn's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live a healthier life. Mary is a 58-year-old mother of six from Kenya. She spent years working hard to support herself by selling clothes in the market. Although her children are now grown and caring for families of their own, Mary continues to navigate many challenges. Mary first noticed a painful boil in her vulva area in October 2025. After seeking treatment at a nearby hospital, she found no relief. Instead, her condition worsened. By time Mary arrived at our facility in February 2026, tests revealed she had vulva cancer. The swelling made it difficult for her to carry out daily activities. More than anything, Mary longed for healing, relief from the pain, and the chance to regain her strength and dignity. Thanks to your support, Mary successfully underwent mass excision surgery to remove the infected and cancerous tissue. Since then, she has been healing well, with the pain and burning sensation greatly improved. She now requires skin graft surgery to properly cover and protect the affected area. Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Mary receive treatment. On May 18th, surgeons will perform a debridement and skin graft procedure to continue her journey toward recovery. Now, Mary needs help to fund this $1,185 procedure. Mary says, “I was so afraid the disease would keep spreading. Now I have hope again, and I pray this next surgery will help me heal completely and regain my strength.”

Taung is a 64-year-old man from Burma. He lives with his daughter, son, and two grandsons. He is retired and helps with household chores to support his family. His daughter is divorced and raises chickens and pigs for their own consumption, selling the surplus to buy additional food and cover their basic needs. Each of his grandsons goes to middle school, while Taung's son has a mental illness and stays home. He also has another daughter who helps support him. His family has enough income for their basic needs and healthcare, but they have struggled to meet the financial obligations of Taung's needs. Currently, Taung is experiencing upper abdominal pain, and he feels discomfort when walking for long periods or sitting down. Eating to fill his stomach can also lead to discomfort, so he eats only in small quantities. After seeking medical help at our medical partner's care center, Mae Sot Hospital, the doctor has diagnosed Taung with a bile duct stone and has recommended surgery. Taung has been advised to undergo a cholecystectomy, the surgical removal of the gallbladder. If left untreated, Taung's symptoms will continue to worsen and put him at risk for further health complications in the future. Taung is scheduled to undergo his cholecystectomy on August 13th. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $1,500 to cover the total cost of his procedure and care. Taung said, "Due to my condition, I experience severe pain sometimes. I could not help much with household chores. When the pain is severe, I could not eat and could not sleep well. I want to recover, and then I would like to plant banana trees and other vegetables to sell and make income to support my family. Thank you to all the donors for helping me."
