Tabitha is a 34-year-old woman from Kenya. Tabitha and her family take on casual labor opportunities that come their way.
On April 18th, while walking to fetch water from a nearby river, Tabitha tripped over a rock and severely injured her ankle. The fall caused an open wound with significant bleeding and intense pain. Passersby who found her quickly came to her aid, controlled the bleeding using available cloth materials, and helped transport her toward medical care.
At our medical partner’s care center, AIC Kapsowar Hospital, doctors confirmed that Tabitha has an ankle fracture and needs a surgical washout and fixation using external fixators to stabilize the injured limb and prevent further complications such as infection, permanent disability, or loss of function. On June 16th, Tabitha will undergo surgery, and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is asking for help to raise $694 to fund her procedure and care.
Tabitha says, “ I didn’t know I would fall and sustain such an injury at this point. Please help me.”
