Choeun is a food vendor from Cambodia. She has four sons, three daughters, and 15 grandchildren. She likes to listen to monks pray on the radio.
One year ago, Choeun developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her clouded vision and photophobia. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Choeun learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for an hour and a half seeking treatment. On September 6, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I want see better and I look forward to taking care of my grandchildren, and recognizing their faces once again.”
