This smiling woman is Channa, a 38-year-old farmer from Cambodia. Channa lives with her husband and two children, and enjoys supporting the family with her work.
“Three months ago, Channa was on her way back from the rice paddy on the back of a moto during a typical Cambodian rain storm,” says our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Center. “The moto lost traction and crashed, and Channa put out her arm to brace herself. The crash left her with a dislocated and broken elbow. She cannot bend her left arm without severe pain, as well being unable to lift and carry stuff.”
She needs surgery to reduce and treat her fracture. The treatment costs $405 and will allow her to get back to work and continue providing for her family. Let’s help Channa get access to the healthcare she needs!

Channa received surgery to treat her fractured elbow.
Her doctor reports, “The surgery and completion of physical therapy will give Channa full range of motion in her left elbow and allow her to pick up and carry things. She can go back to farming and taking care of her two children. More than anything, she soon will be able to do things for herself and not request help for simple tasks.”
“I am most excited to come home from work and cook for my family,” adds Channa.
