This smiling woman is Channa, a 38-year-old farmer from Cambodia. Channa lives with her husband and two children, and enjoys supporting the family with her work. “Three months ago, Channa was on her way back from the rice paddy on the back of a moto during a typical Cambodian rain storm,” says our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Center. “The moto lost traction and crashed, and Channa put out her arm to brace herself. The crash left her with a dislocated and broken elbow. She cannot bend her left arm without severe pain, as well being unable to lift and carry stuff.” She needs surgery to reduce and treat her fracture.
