Jenipher is a 34-year-old farmer from southwestern Uganda. Jenipher is a mother of two children, and unfortunately, lost another child. Jenipher’s children are both in kindergarten. Jenipher completed secondary school education, but was unable to proceed with her own education due to school fees. Jenipher later married and studied to become a tailor. Jenipher makes a modest income as a tailor and works part-time farming to help pay for her family daily needs. Jenipher’s husband is a bodaboda taxi driver who gets paid on commission when he can get work.
Jenipher is being seen for antenatal care at Nyakibale Hospital where the doctor advised her to have a cesarian section to reduce risk of complications. Our medical partner’s African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $252 to cover the cost of Jenipher’s procedure.
Jenipher shared, “I need your support. Without it, I will not be able to pay for the surgery and safely deliver my baby.”
