Ruth is a 23-year-old young woman from Kenya. She is the first-born child in her family. She is a dedicated student who loves reading. Ruth wants to excel at school so she can provide a better life for her mother and younger brother.
Since she was a young girl, Ruth has experienced pain in her ear. She had a choleastatoma surgery done, a procedure in which a non-cancerous growth is removed from the middle ear. However, her condition returned in 2010, and she has been managing it with ear drops.
Earlier this year, Ruth was referred to our medical partner’s care center, AIC Kijabe Hospital. There she was recommended for surgery to cure her condition once and for all.
On August 15, Ruth will undergo surgery at AIC Kijabe Hospital. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is asking for $591 to cover the cost of her procedure.
“I want to excel in my studies and a correction in my ear will go a long way in improving the ability to excel,” says Ruth.
