Phoeun is a carpenter and father of four from Cambodia. He lives with his wife and two children in rural Kampong Chnang province. Their other two children recently moved to nearby villages with their spouses. In his free time, Phoeun likes watching Cambodian and Thai boxing on TV and drinking coffee at the local street cart. Around five years ago, Phoeun noticed a mass growing behind his right ear. The mass has grown larger and occasionally becomes inflamed and infected. He experiences discomfort and has tried numerous medications from his local pharmacy with no improvement. Phoeun traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On April 3rd, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, will remove the mass. Now, Phoeun needs help to raise $273 to fund this procedure. Phoeun shared, "I would like to fix this problem with surgery so I can feel better and go back to work quickly."

Lucia is a baby from southern Bolivia. Her mother stays home with her, and her father is a delivery driver. Lucia was born with a heart condition called coarctation of the aorta. A major blood vessel leading to the heart is too small, which leaves Lucia weak and unable to properly grow. Additionally, she has turner syndrome. Lucia needs surgery to open the aorta to its full size. This will allow blood to flow more easily so she can grow up healthy. Lucia's mother states: "Our family is so happy to know that our daughter can finally have this surgery; we have been hoping for this opportunity since she was born."

17-year-old Kim Leng lives in Phnom Penh with his mother, younger sister, and several members of his extended family. His mother works as a cleaner in a bank, while other members of the household help support the family by working in local service jobs. Kim Leng is a senior in high school. He hopes to attend university, and to obtain a job in marketing or sales after he has graduated. In April 2023, Kim Leng was in a motorbike accident, and injured his right leg. There was nerve damage to his right ankle, but he was unable to afford the treatment from the local trauma center. As a result, he has developed foot drop, which causes his right foot to drag whenever he walks. The foot drop - along with constant discomfort - renders Kim Leng unable to pursue his daily activities. Fortunately, our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is here to help. On December 12th, Kim Leng will undergo a tendon transfer procedure at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre, which will improve the function and mobility of his leg. Now he needs your help to fund the $572 cost of the surgery. Kim Leng shared: "I hope I can walk like before the accident and play soccer again."
