Lon is a 76-year-old food seller from Cambodia. She has three children, ten grandchildren, and enjoy listening to the monks pray on the radio in her free time.
Two years ago, Lon developed a cataract in each eye, causing her vision loss. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Lon learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for four and a half hours seeking treatment. On October 07, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $398 procedure.
Lon said, “I hope that I will be able to see clearly so I can go outside on my own and take care of my husband.”

Surgery will allow her to work and go about her daily life with improved vision. Her doctor looks forward to seeing her again in a couple weeks.
Lon said, “I am so glad that I am able to see clearly after my eye surgery. I can see everyone more clearly, and I can do any work and go anywhere outside more easily than before.”
