Princess is the youngest of three children and is in 1st grade. Her mother sells clothes door-to-door to support her family. Her mother says Princess is very active and makes everyone in the family happy.
Princess’s mother noticed her umbilical cord was protruding when she was about one month old and was told she would require surgery when she was a bit older. About two months ago, Princess started having severe, intermittent pain at the umbilical site, while the protrusion was growing larger. Her mother took her to our medical partner’s care center, Nazareth Hospital, where an ultrasound showed an umbilical hernia. The doctor advised her to undergo hernia repair. If untreated, the little girl will continue to experience pain, the hernia will grow, and complications such as strangulation may arise. This could also affect her schooling.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, can help. Princess is scheduled for corrective surgery on October 3rd and needs your help to raise $517 to fund the procedure. After surgery, Princess will be relieved of pain and able to resume her activities including school.
Princess’s mother shared: “I am fighting to sustain my children on my own and am not working. I therefore appeal for help for my daughter, so that she can be assisted to have this treatment and go on with her life and school.”
