Doreen is a 33-year-old mother of three from Uganda. Since she was young, Doreen’s ambition had always been to become a doctor. Unfortunately she lost her father while young, and could not advance further due to financial difficulties.
Presently, Doreen is married with three children, all school-going. She works as a small-scale farmer, while her husband is a boda boda rider. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her children, visiting friends, and participating in community activities. She also enjoys listening to health-related discussions and learning about ways to care for others, reflecting her long-standing dream of pursuing a career in healthcare.
Doreen is currently expecting her fourth child. Her doctors recommend that she deliver via a caesarean section due to a high-risk pregnancy. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Doreen undergo a C-Section on September 3rd. This procedure will cost $252, and Doreen needs your support.
Doreen says, “It’s unfortunate that as a family, we are constrained financially. I can’t afford the money needed for my surgery, and kindly seek your support.”
