Ratha is a 32-year-old government office worker. He enjoys watching TV, playing sports, reading books, and listening to music. He likes to spend time with his family - he has one sister and two brothers.
Eight years ago, Ratha developed nasal polyps, noncancerous growths in the lining of the nasal passage. For this reason he experiences nasal obstruction, headaches, a runny nose, and sometimes bleeding. It is difficult for him to breathe and sleep.
When Ratha learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for five hours seeking treatment. On December 23rd, doctors will perform a nasal polypectomy to remove the polyps. After recovery, he will be able to breathe more easily. Now, he needs help to fund this $291 procedure.
Ratha told us, “I hope after the operation I can sleep better and breathe easily.”

Ratha underwent nasal polyp surgery so he can breathe well.
Ratha underwent his surgery, and soon after, he already felt it was easier to breathe. He had some mild pain, but his chronic headache had already disappeared. He will take it easy for a few weeks, clean his nose daily with saline, and return for a post-op visit in one month.
Ratha’s father said: “Thank you to the staff for my son’s successful operation. Before this operation he had to apply for leave of absence because he could not breathe at night in cold weather. My son is better than before, it helped his life change for the better.”
