Mary is a 13 month old baby girl who lives with her parents and older brother. Her mother works as a tailor, while her father is a taxi conductor.
Recently, it was discovered that Mary has an umbilical hernia. She has swelling in her umbilicus, which makes her cry a lot. She also experiences pain when she eats. Fortunately, on April 4th, she will undergo hernia repair surgery at Karoli Lwanga Hospital, Nyakibale.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $230 to fund Mary’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure should enable her to live more comfortably and confidently.
Mary’s mother says: “I hope she will get better because she has a lot of pain.”
