Janet is a 37-year-old widow with pre-cancerous lesions on her cervix. Without treatment, Janet’s doctors say there’s a high risk that her condition will progress into untreatable cancer.
Fortunately, surgeons at African Mission Healthcare Foundation can perform a hysterectomy to remove Janet’s uterus and, they expect, “eliminate the risk of cervical cancer.”
Janet lost her husband several years ago. Her in-laws have since taken away the farm and small wealth she and her husband managed to build during their years together. This left Janet with nothing, unable to educate her children beyond primary school. Janet was diagnosed with cervical dysplasia four years ago, but hasn’t had the money to seek treatment. Janet loves her children and wants to see them grow up to live happy, successful lives. Her whole family hopes we can raise the money needed to pay for her treatment so she can get back on her feet.
