Kadija is a 62-year-old farmer and mother of three children from Uganda.
Kadija’s case started three years ago when she developed pain in her lower abdomen and back, which caused weakness in her lower limbs. This affected her ability to move and do daily activities such as cooking, washing, fetching water, and farming. She went to the nearby health center, where she was assessed and diagnosed with an inguinal hernia. She was given some medications to reduce the pain and discharged home.
Two years later, Kadija’s pain intensified. She returned to the hospital and was told that she required surgery. Fortunately, our medical partner, Hope Health Action (HHA), is here to help Kadija. On September 7th, surgeons will perform hernia repair surgery. HHA is requesting $605 to fund Kadija’s operation, which will alleviate her current symptoms.
Kadija shared, “Thank you to HHA and the donors for the support. I hope I can resume my activities after my operation.”
