Meet Rorn, a 65-year-old man from Cambodia living with a mature cataract in his right eye. According to our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), the cataract “prohibits Rorn from doing his job and supporting his family”—one that includes his wife, three children and two grandchildren. In addition, Rorn has a hard time recognizing faces and walking around outside alone.
With $150 in funding Rorn will receive cataract surgery to remove the cloudy lens in his eye and replace it with an artificial one. Following surgery CSC expects that Rorn will have restored vision and experience little pain.
For a man who likes to keep abreast of social news, communicate with people and stay active, the positive prognosis of this surgery is great news for Rorn!
“After surgery he wants to return to his job to support his family, plant veggies around his house to sell, and go anywhere alone,” CSC adds. Let’s help restore Rorn’s eyesight!
