Meet Leng Heng, a 24-year-old from Cambodia who loves to play football. Last July, he broke his leg in a motorbike accident. He went to a local hospital and underwent five surgeries, where he spent all of his savings and had to borrow an additional $2000.
The fracture still has not united, and he needs an external fixation device to align the bone, along with physiotherapy, to be able to walk again. For $300, Leng Heng will undergo surgery with a Ilizarov, an apparatus to treat complex bone fractures, so his bone can finally be united.

Leng Heng received surgery to repair his fractured leg.
Leng’s doctor says, “Leng is doing well and the bone in his leg is already uniting. He has already improved function in his leg, and his doctors say he is much happier and actively doing his physiotherapy. He looks forward to returning to work.”
