Leo is a six-year-old boy and a first-grade student from Uganda. He is the second-born child in a family of three children. His mother is a small-scale farmer who grows a few crops and also works in other people’s gardens to earn income for the family’s basic needs.
For the past three years, Leo has had a right inguinal hernia. He was brought with complaints of a painful swelling in the right inguinal region. The pain has worsened, prompting his mother to seek medical treatment for Leo.
Fortunately, on December 18th, Leo will undergo repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center, Uganda Martyr’s Ibanda Hospital. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $201 to fund Leo’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably.
Leo’s mother says, “My son has had this condition for a long time, and I hope the surgery will be successful. However, I do not have the money for the operation, so I appeal for assistance. After he recovers from the operation, I will continue to support his education.’’
