Say hi to Simon, a one-year-old boy from Haiti! According to our medical partner, Project Medishare (PM), “Simon is a mono-parental baby; his father is dead and his mother is the only person fighting to raise two kids. She does not have a job and the family is living in the countryside so she is alone with the kids at home. The only activity she does to take care of the babies is selling rice and sometimes she does random jobs.”
Unfortunately, Simon was born with a cleft lip. PM tells us that “he is unable to eat well and drink liquids. His mother explains that sometimes when the baby eats food it goes through his nostrils and the baby used to experience flu and fever symptoms.”
For $960, Simon will receive surgery to repair his cleft lip. He will be able to eat, drink, and breathe normally. Let’s help Simon get back on track to becoming a healthy toddler!

Simon received surgery to treat his cleft lip.
“I want to say thanks to all the staff, thanks to every single person that made it possible for my son to obtain the surgery,” shares Simon’s mother. “It is a big day for me and I am glad that my baby is doing good. I am excited to go back home with him and show the people how he is now after the surgery; I am sure they will be amazed when they’ll see him. His life will be different now because his face is good now and he will be healthier.”
Our medical partner, Project Medishare, adds: “The surgery was a success and now Simon drinks easily. Soon he will be able to eat normally.”
