Alivin is 14 months old, and the firstborn in his family from Uganda. His parents are small-scale farmers who work on other people’s land, as they do not own any land themselves.
Since birth, Alivin has had a right inguinal hernia. His mother noticed a swelling in his inguinal area that had progressively worsened, causing him pain. This painful condition necessitated a visit to a surgeon, who diagnosed Alivin, and recommended surgery. Although Alivin’s parents are dedicated to making ends meet, the unexpected medical expenses for Alivin’s surgery present an overwhelming challenge. Alivin’s mother, with a heavy heart and deep love for her son, is uncertain where to obtain the funds required for his surgery.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $201 to fund Alivin’s hernia repair surgery, scheduled for February 12th at Uganda Martyr’s Ibanda Hospital. Once completed, this procedure should alleviate Alivin’s discomfort.
Alivin’s mother said: “I request the donor program to support my child’s surgery, because I do not have any financial support for the operation. After Alivin has recovered from the operation, I will continue practicing farming and breastfeeding my baby.”
