Meet Marie Chantal, a 42-year-old mother from Haiti with two children. Marie likes to go to church on Sunday with her family and used to run a small business of her own, shares our medical partner, Project Medishare.
“Last August, Marie Chantal noticed a small mass on her right breast. She had pain only when she was doing work. One month later she realized the mass was getting larger. She went to see a doctor downtown for diagnosis. The result of the biopsy revealed she had breast cancer,” shares Project Medishare.
Marie Chantal now needs surgery to remove the tumor, a mastectomy, and following chemotherapy treatment. The treatment will take place at Hospital Bernard Mevs. The treatment costs $1,500.
After surgery, Marie Chantal would like to resume her daily life and the activities she enjoys.
