Say hello to Bajir, a 49-year-old cattle farmer from Nepal! Bajir lives with his wife and their seven children. The income he earns from their small piece of land isn’t enough to support the family, so he travels with his eldest son to larger cities in India for work. When he’s home, he loves playing with his youngest son, who is seven.
“Bajir pricked his foot with a thorn while he was bringing his cows home one evening. The puncture wound has since become infected, causing immense pain throughout his foot when he walks or does other daily activities,” explains our medical partner, Possible. “If the infection goes untreated, it could threaten his leg, and possibly spread to other organs in his body.”
For $215, Bajir will receive treatment to drain, dress and bandage his wound properly, and antibiotics to fight off infection. His family can barely make ends meet and does not have enough money to cover the cost of this treatment. Let’s pay for the care he needs to can keep supporting his family and playing with his sons!
