Amor is an adorable 5-month-old baby from Ethiopia. He loves to play with rattles and stuffed animals with his mom. Amor’s mom stays at home to care for him, while his father works as a tailor to help provide income for the family’s basic needs.
Amor was born with an inguinal hernia, which is a birth condition that results from a weakness in the abdominal wall. The condition often becomes more pronounced when a baby is crying or coughing. Currently, Amor experiences pain and discomfort, and his parents are worried about his health. Amor will need to undergo surgery to address his symptoms and prevent the risk of the hernia becoming incarcerated in the future.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), can help Amor receive treatment. On May 10th, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at AMH’s care center. This procedure will allow him to live more comfortably and confidently upon recovery. AMH is requesting $512 to fund Amor’s surgery.
Amor’s mom shared, “With this surgery, I hope the bulge will disappear and he will get normal and free of any pain.”
