Benon is a 50-year-old man from rural Uganda. He is a father of four. He and his wife, Ruth, are teachers in a secondary school. They have three children, and they also support five other distant relatives. All of their children are in school. Benon hopes that when they are older, they will use their education to serve the community.
For eighteen years, Benon has had an inguinal hernia. Six months ago, the pain grew severe. Since then, Benon has been unable to work, walk, bend over, or lift anything. On November 5, he underwent a hernia repair surgery.
Though Benon has contributed $4 to his care, he needs help to pay his remaining $229 medical bill. He is looking forward to returning to his teaching.
“I sincerely thank the people that are donating to my treatment,” he says. “May God continue blessing you, so as to bless many more. I hope to go back and continue with teaching after I have had my surgery.”
