Kelly is a 22-year-old woman from Kenya. She is currently an intern pursuing her studies in media. Her mother is a tailor and her father sadly passed away in 2011. She is the youngest child in a family of three children.
Since she was born, Kelly has had an umbilical hernia, a condition in which the intestine protrudes through the abdominal muscles at the belly button. She shared that the hernia has been gradually growing in size and she experiences recurring abdominal pain, especially when exercising. She requires surgery to treat her condition.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is helping Kelly receive treatment. On January 6th, she will undergo hernia repair surgery at AMH’s care center. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably and confidently. Now, she needs help raising $684 to fund her procedure and care.
Kelly shared, “this swelling in the abdomen is causing me lots of discomfort.”

Kelly underwent hernia repair surgery so she can live comfortably and go after her dreams.
Kelly had a successful surgery and had a special note to share with everyone who supported her care. She will now be free from pain and can continue with her studies comfortably.
Kelly says, “My name is Dorcas Kelly, I am 22 years old, and I come from East Africa, Kenya. I am still a student at Kenya Film School. Right now am doing my internship at one local TV station but I have not yet secured a job there. I want to take this opportunity to thank you greatly for transforming my life. When I reached out for help, I wasn’t sure that I was going to get it because I had tried getting assistance from other health centers, but they always turned me down. I never gave up, I continued searching online where I could get help, then boom! African Mission Healthcare through Watsi stepped in for me. I am so grateful and humbled by your kindness, please continue with the same work of being a source of hope to families that can’t afford to pay their medical expenses. You have no idea how you are being a blessing to people out there who have health issues but no one to turn to, but you take that responsibility without expecting any favor back. May God continue blessing you together with your families. I am so grateful for helping me receive healing 🙏May God continue blessing you abundantly.”
