Kolon is a four-year-old boy, who lives with his family in Mali.
Kolon has been experiencing recurring abdominal pain with episodes of choking. He was taken to hospital, where he was diagnosed with an umbilical hernia, which is a tissue bulge in the belly button area that occurs due to a weak spot in the abdominal wall. He needs to undergo surgery to prevent his symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, Muso, is helping Kolon to receive treatment. On August 5th, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at Centre de Santé de Référence (CSREF) Commune 6. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live a healthier life. Now, Kolon’s family needs help to fund this $611 procedure.
Kolon’s parents say: “We hope that the surgery will allow him to regain his health.”
