Afiki is a 70-year-old maize and groundnut farmer from a village in Malawi. He lives with his wife. They have six children and ten grandchildren. Afiki enjoys tending his farm and chatting with friends and neighbors.
A year ago, Afiki began to experience uncomfortable urinary symptoms. He lost the ability to work and support his family. Fortunately, on November 3, Afiki underwent an open prostatectomy surgery to relieve his symptoms.
Now, Afiki’s family needs help to fund this $726 procedure. They feel grateful to Watsi for helping Afiki get treatment.

Afiki received successful treatment.
Afiki had a successful prostatectomy! He was all smiles following the operation. He is looking forward to returning to farming groundnuts and chatting with his friends.
