Dorcas is a 6-year-old girl from Guatemala who suffered a severe burn to the right side of her chest and armpit from a falling candle. She was immediately transferred to a burn center, where she was successfully skin grafted. However, her family can’t afford to pay for the rehabilitation work she needs in order to preserve the function of her right arm (the risk of scar tissue forming could seriously limit her arm and shoulder mobility).
We are seeking funding to help provide Dorcas with the skin care medications, pressure garments, and two months of rehabilitation she needs to preserve the function of her arm. Let’s pitch in and make sure this 6-year-old girl is able to fully recover from this terrible accident.
