Doreen is a 39-year-old woman from Uganda. She is a single mother to two children. As her parents have passed away, Doreen now lives with her uncle.
A year ago, Doreen began to experience troubling symptoms, including lower abdominal pain, headache, general body weakness, and difficulty walking due to pain. Previously, she underwent surgery at a government facility after being diagnosed with uterine fibroids. Although her pain initially subsided, it later reoccurred, bringing back the same discomfort she had experienced before the first operation.
Doreen was referred to our medical partner’s care center, Uganda Martyrs’ Ibanda Hospital, where she was diagnosed with right ovarian masses. She needs surgery to remove the masses, relieve her of her symptoms, and prevent future health complications. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $279 to fund Doreen’s surgery scheduled for November 13th.
Doreen says, “I thank God for guiding me to receive treatment at Ibanda Hospital, and I appeal for assistance because I cannot afford the bills for my surgery. I will continue assisting the family of my uncle and staying with him after recovering from surgery.’’
